Denise Richardsâ estranged husband, Aaron Phypers, called the cops on her over the weekend after she allegedly showed up at his home unannounced, Us Weekly can report.
Sources close to Phypers, 52, tell Us he phoned the Los Angeles Sheriffâs Department on Sunday, August 3.
The insider claimed that Richards, 54, showed up at the Calabasas home where he and his parents are living. Richards and Phypers lived in the home together until she moved out into a leased townhome in 2023 due to marital issues.
A source close to Phypers claimed Richards showed up to the Calabasas home to retrieve a dog. Weâre told Phypers rushed out of the home because Richards has a temporary restraining order in place against him.
Another source added that Phypersâ parents were âfrightened and conflicted.â They claimed, âShe tried all the doors, they were locked. She went to the back door, slammed on the windows and screamed to open to door.
âThey didnât know whether to open the door or wait for police. His parents still havenât slept, and neither are doing well,â the source added.
Us can confirm that Richards was eventually let into the home by a member of Phypersâ family.
Richards told Phypersâ family they needed to leave the home, according to TMZ.
The outlet reported that no arrests were made at the scene.
A source close to Phypers told Us that Richards has all of his personal property.
The source added, âThis has been a painful and confusing time for Aaron. He loves Denise. There is not a moment that goes by that he doesnât miss her by his side. He also deeply misses [Richardsâ daughters] Eloise and Lola. They have always had a special place in his heart and always will.â
Richardsâ divorce attorney Brett Berman tells Us, âMs. Richards did not violate a restraining order. On August 3, 2025, after confirming that Mr. Phypers was not present in her home, Ms. Richards entered the home to retrieve her dogs after learning that Mr. Phypers had put down one of her other dogs without her knowledge or permission.â
A source close to Phypers claimed to Us that Richards has not lived in the home for over two years.
The drama comes as Richards was seen filming Real Housewives of Beverly Hills amid her messy divorce on August 2.
As Us previously reported, Phypers filed for divorce on July 7 in L.A. Superior Court.
In his filing, he cited âirreconcilable differencesâ as the reason for the split. He demanded Richards pay him spousal support.
A couple of days later, Richards pleaded with the court to grant her a restraining order against Phypers. She accused him of physical abuse during their marriage.
âThroughout our relationship, Aaron would frequently violently choke me, violently squeeze my head with both hands, tightly squeeze my arms, violently slap me in my face and head, aggressively slam my head into the bathroom towel rack, threaten to kill me, hold me down with his knee on my back to the point where I would have to plead with him to get off me so that he would not kill me and hack into my laptop and phone and download all of my text messages,â Richards wrote in a declaration.
In her filing, Richards detailed an alleged incident on July 4. She claimed he showed up to her townhome, despite being told not to come to her property.
âAaron chased me and grabbed both of my arms forcefully and pushed me and dragged me to the ground,â Richards alleged. âI landed on the stairs, causing immense pain. Aaron stole my laptop and sent private messages he had stolen from my laptop without my permission.â
Phypers denied the accusations. He told Us, âLet me be unequivocally clear: I have never physically or emotionally abused Denise â or anyone.â
He added, âThese accusations are completely false and deeply hurtful. Denise and I, like many couples, have faced our share of challenges, but any suggestion of abuse is categorically untrue. I have always tried to approach our marriage with love, patience, and respect. I ask for privacy as we navigate personal matters, and I hope that the public and media will refrain from spreading harmful and baseless claims.â
As Us previously reported, Phypers wrote a letter to close friends claiming Richards desperately needed an intervention.
Soon after, Richards claimed Phypers violated the temporary restraining order in place by leaking nude photos of her that he stole from her laptop to the media.
