The above first look at The Real Housewives of Orange County Season 19 promises tense feuds, revealing lie detector tests, and even the dramatic return of Gretchen Rossi and Slade Smiley. But the ladies are also facing problems in their personal lives, including Emily Simpson, whose son is dealing with a health issue.
“Luke, he’s sad, and it breaks my heart,” Emily tells her husband, Shane Simpson, in the Season 19 trailer, later adding, “I have a son that’s in crisis, and I feel alone in that.”
Luke's health situation also appears to be impacting Emily and Shane's marriage, as later Emily tearfully says, “We’re gonna end up divorced.”
Emily's BravoTV.com bio adds more detail about the situation, noting she "takes on one of the biggest challenges of her life when one of her sons is diagnosed with a rare medical condition."
Emily has three children: twin sons Luke and Keller Simpson, and her daughter, Annabelle Simpson. Her twins turned ten years old on February 15, and she shared a sweet birthday message on her social media, posting pictures of her and her sons, and writing, “I’ll love you for always.”
She detailed more on their births in the post, writing: “Luke was strong and could go home with me…but Keller had to stay in the NICU” before they all eventually reunited at home.
“Being a boy mom is the best thing that has ever happened to me. There is no love like the love between a mother and her sons,” she wrote. “Thank you for being my best friends, my sweet angels and the loves of my life.”
The Ohio native recently shared a new update on an addition to the family: a foster dog named Cindi that joined in September 2024. The family also has a dog named Togo.
Although Emily's bio and the Season 19 trailer hint at marital trouble for Emily and Shane, she shared a positive update on their relationship in March.
“Three reasons I’d never leave my husband: 1. I’d be doing him a favor; and I don’t do favors,” she quipped in an Instagram video “2. He’d have a lot more money without me so I need to keep him motivated. 3. His life would be too peaceful and calm. Living with me teaches him how to handle chaos and insanity.”
