In a surprising turn of events that’s sent shockwaves through the reality TV community, Bravo has officially pulled the plug on Below Deck Sailing Yacht, ending its run after several successful seasons. The announcement follows a breakdown in salary negotiations between the network and the show’s beloved cast, leaving die-hard fans stunned and the future of the Below Deck franchise uncertain.

Launched in 2020 as a nautical spinoff of Bravo’s flagship Below Deck series, Sailing Yacht quickly charted its own course — blending high-seas drama with breathtaking Mediterranean vistas and a crew that knew how to work hard, play harder, and occasionally crash into a dock or two. Over its five seasons, the show gained a loyal following thanks to standout personalities like Chief Stew Daisy Kelliher, First Mate Gary King, and Captain Glenn Shephard, whose calm leadership became a steady anchor amidst the chaos.

But behind the scenes, storm clouds had been brewing.

According to insiders, salary negotiations for the upcoming season hit choppy waters when returning cast members requested a significant pay bump — a move they felt was justified after years of bringing in solid ratings and fan engagement. However, Bravo reportedly balked at the increased financial demands, leading to a stalemate that neither side could weather.

“Bravo didn’t want to pay what the cast deserved,” one production source told Page Six. “The crew worked under extreme conditions for multiple seasons, often with limited time off and intense filming schedules. The audience may see the glamour, but the grind is real — and they wanted to be compensated fairly for it.”

Rather than recasting or reworking the show entirely, the network opted for an outright cancellation — a decision that blindsided fans and even some cast members, who took to social media to share their heartbreak.

“Gutted doesn’t even begin to cover it,” Daisy Kelliher wrote on Instagram. “This show changed my life, and I’ll forever be grateful for the friendships, the challenges, and the ridiculous adventures we shared at sea.”

Captain Glenn, the show’s stalwart skipper, echoed the sentiment in a statement posted to X (formerly Twitter): “Thank you to every fan who sailed with us. It’s been the ride of a lifetime. See you out there — wind at your back.”

The cancellation comes at a time when Bravo is re-evaluating its broader reality slate, tightening budgets across franchises while exploring new formats. Some industry analysts speculate that Sailing Yacht could return in a different form, possibly through Peacock or as a limited international version — but as of now, nothing is confirmed.

For viewers, the end of Below Deck Sailing Yacht is more than just the loss of a show — it’s the end of a floating family, a weekly escape, and a reminder that even on the wildest waves, humanity and humor always found a way to shine through.

As one fan put it best in a trending Reddit thread:
“Bravo may have pulled the anchor, but the memories? Those sail on forever.”
