Andy Cohen is getting into the SNL spirit next week, welcoming five legendary former cast members to Watch What Happens Live on the same night.
The Bravo show’s guest lineup for Tuesday night makes up a supergroup of some of Saturday Night Live’s most celebrated leading women: Cecily Strong, Rachel Dratch, Ana Gasteyer, Cheri Oteri, and Laraine Newman.
The quintet of SNL alums spans several different generations of the legendary sketch show. While Dratch, Gasteyer, and Oteri—who each joined in the late ‘90s—all overlapped in their time as cast members, Strong’s decade on the show began in 2012, and Newman was one of the show’s founding Not Ready for Primetime Players (she was recently portrayed by actress Emily Fairn in Jason Reitman’s behind-the-scenes biopic, Saturday Night).
Andy Cohen’s special ‘Women of SNL’ panel comes as NBCUniversal—parent of WWHL’s home cable network Bravo—gears up for SNL’s big 50th birthday bash next weekend. The celebration kicks off with SNL50: The Homecoming Concert on Friday night, continues with a rebroadcast of SNL’s 1975 premiere episode Saturday, and culminates in the crown jewel of SNL‘s milestone season, the three-hour primetime SNL50: The Anniversary Special.
