Brave Teddi Mellencamp exposes scars from traumatic brain surgery on red carpet with Kyle Richards

Teddi Mellencamp attended the Women's Cancer Research Fund's annual gala, An Unforgettable Evening, with Kyle Richards on Monday evening.

The 43-year-old media personality — who has been documenting her battle with stage 4 cancer — made the bold choice to walk the red carpet without a wig, baring the scars from her multiple brain surgeries this year.

Teddi, who shares three children with estranged husband Edwin Arroyave, looked fantastic in a low-cut, black pantsuit that bared her cleavage.

She put on a brave face, looking beautifully made up as she accessorized with silver-toned necklaces and diamond stud earrings.

For her part, 56-year-old Kyle coordinated with Teddi as she modeled a white pantsuit with black lapels.

Mellencamp was active on Instagram on Monday, sharing a close-up look at her scarred scalp.

She wrote to her 1.2 million followers, 'It’s been 76 days since I went to the ER with unbearable headaches and quickly found out I had multiple stage 4 tumors “the size of plums” in my brain and lungs. Melanoma had metastasized there and been there for “6 months to a year” and we had no clue.'

The former Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star continued, 'Since that day, I have had multiple surgeries, had rage from the steroids, felt very sick, laughed a ton, ridden horses, loved on my kids and felt great.'

She opened up, 'When I first looked at this picture, at the scars on my head and my arm, I cried. Then, I felt a warmness rush through my body and felt so much peace.

'Peace from the incredible support system I have in my family and friends. Peace from the outpouring of love from y’all on here. Peace in knowing my story could help somebody save their life.'

In conclusion, she said, 'Sending love to anyone struggling and reminding you if something isn’t feeling right to go get checked. Advocate for yourself. We have got this.'

Teddi and her estranged husband Edwin have put their divorce proceedings on hold, although they still intend to go through with the breakup.

To mark his birthday on April 19, she wrote on social media, 'Happy birthday Edwin! No matter where life takes us I know we're both proud of what we've created for the kiddos.'

While Mellencamp has often opted to wear blonde wigs amid her health crisis, her decision to rock a bald head on Monday was poignant.

She rounded out her timeless ensemble with a pair of metallic silver, pointed-toe kitten heels.

Over the course of her surgeries, radiation, and immunotherapy treatment she has been supported by close friend Kyle and others.

On a recent episode of The Eds podcast, Arroyave opened up to co-host Eddie Judge about his instinct to be there for Teddi even though their marriage is ending.

He remembered when he first found out about her diagnosis and said his initial thought was to get her to feel 'confident.'

The father-of-four said he also wanted to get their relationship to a 'good place' and make sure their three kids were emotionally secure

'No matter what, I will always love Teddi and she's been a big part of my life. And I like taking care of people, it's just what I do. So it wasn't even like, a question,' Edwin said of being by his wife's side throughout her health ordeal.

Referring to their paused divorce proceedings, he shared, 'The first thing is just making sure that we take care of this first.
