“Sadly, Joy is painting the picture of the older, seemingly miserable, washed-up woman that all of us are trying to show that we aren’t," Frankel said in a TikTok
Bethenny Frankel is clapping back at comments about her runway body.
On Sunday, June 8, the Real Housewives of New York City alum, 54, took to TikTok to discuss Joy Behar's comments about Frankel's appearance on the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit runway during Miami Swim Week.
"Joy Behar took a swipe at me on The View," Frankel said in the clip. "Whoopi [Goldberg] mentioned I was talking about the [Sports Illustrated Swimsuit] show, saying that none of us looked the way that we looked two hours prior. It took a lot of work and glam teams. Joy’s response was, ‘I appreciate her candor, but she has fake boobs.’"
The reality alum then clarified that her breasts "are a lift from, like, 20 years ago."
"I had very large breasts in high school, they were just saggy floppy," she shared. "So this is actually a lift, Joy."
Frankel went on to explain that the SI show proved "that women my age and older, women of a certain age, can live their lives freely with happiness and with joy, and that we’re not washed-up, miserable older women.”
She continued, "I actually feel sorry for Joy that she hasn't lived her life, or doesn't seem to be living her life, with any joy. You have to be really miserable to take a swipe at something that is literally self-deprecating and literally leveling the playing field, saying, ‘Yeah, we all look like this, but we had a lot of work that day. She had to kick someone when they were already saying they’re down.”
Frankel concluded by saying, “Sadly, Joy is painting the picture of the older, seemingly miserable, washed-up woman that all of us are trying to show that we aren’t.”
The former RHONY star hit the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit catwalk on May 31 in an array of sexy looks, from a leopard-print one-piece to a denim bikini set.
Following swirling internet discourse about her appearance on the runway, Frankel took a moment to address the chatter.
"So I guess we have to discuss what I looked like on that runway because the internet is so fascinated with my age, my weight, my face, my hair," the star said in a video shared on Monday, June 2.
She went on to explain that she and the other models "did not look that way two hours prior" and that she looks "like a train wreck most of the time."
The former RHONY star also claimed she doesn't do crash diets or have a workout routine but rather has a "good relationship with food and exercise," though "it wasn't always that way." She recalled being 25 pounds heavier in her early 30s due to being "fixated and obsessed" and stuck in a loop of bingeing and restricting.
"My body is natural," she later noted. "I don't do weights. And the reason my body is natural is because the exercise I do and have always done for my body is natural. I'll go months without exercise and definitely days without doing anything, but I always come back to it."
