Bethenny Frankel has ditched the hustle of the East Coast for palm trees and ocean breeze —and she’s not looking back. The former Real Housewives of New York star/current constant content creator recently packed up her life (and her opinions) and moved to Florida with her daughter Bryn Hoppy. And, according to a recent update from Bethenny, the laid-back lifestyle is exactly what they both needed.
Bethenny opened up to Us Weekly about why her recent move feels right. It turns out, she’s no stranger to the Sunshine State. “I went to high school in Florida and I’ve been going there my entire life, even since I was a younger, since I was a baby,” she said.
She bought a Miami apartment in 2024, thinking it’d be a part-time thing—but it quickly became much more. “I thought I would be there a certain number of days,” she explained. “It started to make me feel like, ‘Wait, I really feel like I live here,’ even before this whole decision happened.” Bethenny also sold her Greenwich, CT home earlier this month for $7.8 million.
Bethenny said it was more than just a vacation vibe. “So I was already like, wait, it feels different to live here than to visit,” she added. “It feels different in the right way.”
And Bryn? She’s fully thriving in her new beachy surroundings. “I have a sunshine baby,” Bethenny said. “We are water people. Today, I’m in the city for the shoot and she asked me if she could go back out and just be out by the water, by herself. She just likes to be free.”
The mother-daughter duo is leaning into Florida life—sunshine, sports, and all. “We’re just excited for sunshine,” she said, “and sports and being outside and being near the beach. It’s who we really are.”
After her chaotic, drama-filled time on Scary Island years ago, it seems like Bethenny’s new beach era is looking a lot calmer.
