Bethenny Frankel brands popular sleeping drug 'the devil' after sharing wild theories on drone phenomenon-quang

Former Real Housewives of New York star Bethenny Frankel has branded a popular sleeping drug 'the devil' after she shared her experience taking it.

The Skinnygirl mogul, 54, took to TikTok this week to talk about what she claims happened to her after taking Ambien, also known as zolpidem.

The medication is often used to treat insomnia and is prescribed by a doctor, per Cleveland Clinic.

It is supposed to help you fall asleep quickly and stay asleep throughout the night, and has been FDA approved since 1992.

However, Frankel claimed that when she took it, she experienced some adverse side effects, calling the drug 'garbage' and 'the devil.'

'I don't take things to sleep, I like my body to sleep naturally, but for a couple of nights, I hadn't slept, and I was really activated and really stressed about it, so it was at night, and I took a half an Ambien on two nights in a row,' the BStrong founder explained in the clip.

'I only slept five hours, so it didn't even work, but more importantly, the next day, I didn't attribute it to this until yesterday, the next day, I was dizzy, like I had to lay on my kitchen floor, I was disoriented, I was foggy, I was irritable, and I was exhausted,' she continued.

In addition, she also had a stomach ache, and was wondering if someone had 'poisoned' her.

The former Bravo star explained that she then looked up the side effects of the drug, which included some of the symptoms that she was feeling.

According to The Mayo Clinic, some common side effects include headache, drowsiness, and muscle aches.

Some less common ones include 'stomach discomfort' and 'being forgetful.'

The medication should only be taken as directed by a doctor, and The Clinic urged users to check with their providers immediately if they experienced side effects like chest pain, confusion and fever, among others.

'I remember when I had my talk show years ago, and I had to get up every day and so I was worried about sleep, I was never more irritable and I think it's the devil,' she said.

'I can't believe it's a real drug that people use, Ambien is the worst,' she added.

Frankel noted that she had heard stories about people doing some wild things while on the drug, but said just from a physical standpoint, it makes you feel like 'garbage.'

'No one should prescribe that,' she boldly concluded.

DailyMail.com reached out to Cosette Pharmaceuticals, Inc., who are the owners of Ambien, for comment.

In the comments section of her video, many people seemed to disagree with her sentiment about the drug, explaining that they needed it to go to sleep.

'Disagree. It works wonders BUT you need at least 7-8 hours of sleep,' one person wrote.

Another agreed, 'Sure I wake up and eat some times, but if I did not take it every night then I would not even sleep for 6 hours. I’m thankful I get to take this.'

'It works great for me!! Just because it didn’t work for you, please don’t diss it to your huge audience!' someone else typed.

However, others claimed they felt the same way while taking Ambien as Frankel did.

'Been there. I didn’t tolerate it well either,' a TikTok user commented.

Another seconded, 'Hangover from it ! Yup.'

Her thoughts about the drug come just days after she claimed that she received a 'gag order' on TikTok for talking about the drones hovering above the Northeast.

Since at least November 18, New Jersey officials and federal investigators have been plagued by reports of inexplicable apparent aircraft - some as big as cars - conducting bizarre, unscheduled night flights over sensitive sites across the state.

They've also been spotted in New York and Washington, D.C.

Last week, White House national security spokesman John Kirby attempted to address the fury, as he told the public that many of the drones were 'commercial hobbyists and law enforcement drones.'

However, Frankel has been doing her own independent inquiry into the drones, alleging in one video that she had been in contact with a man whose father 'worked with The Pentagon and NASA,' as well as on various secret projects.

She has made countless TikTok videos about the drone phenomenon, but now, she has claimed that there won't be many more after she says she is no longer able to make the videos.

Frankel said that sharing her videos on other platforms would still be 'fine,' but alleged that her TikTok clips were being 'stopped.'

'On the other place, it's been fine, on this place, it's been completely stopped short, not allowed and not pushed through,' she continued.

The Skinnygirl mogul claimed that she had noticed a change on her TikTok over the past three days.

'There was a written acknowledgement of that, and then ... I almost wasn't allowed to come to this party anymore, at all,' she said ominously, seemingly hinting that she was nearly banned from TikTok.

'So, it's not that I've stopped because I don't care, it's that I've stopped because I've been gagged,' she concluded.

She is now attempting to talk about them on her TikTok by using code words like 'Dior bag' and 'glowing accessories.'

'The head of the department store doesn't want us to know about these Dior Bags,' she said in a new clip.
