Below Deck's 'hot captain' Jason Chambers reveals he once had to lock himself in his cabin to keep out horny female passengers lusting after him

There's no denying that Below Deck: Down Under's Captain Jason Chambers is hot cargo.

And the reality star, 50, has revealed the measures he's been forced to take to avoid passengers flirting with him while out at sea.

Speaking to The Kyle And Jackie O Show on Wednesday, the single father admitted he once had to hide in his cabin to avoid the horny women lusting after him.

'Last season, there was a couple [of female passengers] on the last charter... I actually locked my door,' Jason admitted.

Sandilands, who watched the show last season, interjected: '[The women] were drunk boilers... they wanted that captain more than anything else.'

'They were lovely, but I understand why you would have had to lock the door,' he added with a laugh.

It comes after Jason exclusively told Daily Mail Australia that he is looking for 'adventurous' woman to date.

The seaman, who is a father-of-one to Saskia, eight, from a previous relationship, said he has 'dedicated a lot of time' to his daughter and is searching for someone who is 'independent and secure'.

He said while he's not actively looking for a partner right now, he has a very particular type of woman he's attracted to.

'For me to have a relationship, someone has to be very independent and secure in their own situation. So that's difficult to find,' he said.

'Someone has got to be acceptable for what I've got going on which is my daughter and my work moving around. So they have to have their own thing going on.'

He went on to say his ideal partner is someone who can help him be 'better' and maintain an active, healthy lifestyle.

'Like someone who makes me get out of bed and do some exercise. Which I love doing, but sometimes I can be a lazy a**,' he said.

'So, freediving, adventurous and healthy, and make me better at that because I want to be better at that as well.'

It comes as season two of Below Deck Down Under premieres exclusively to Hayu as a fresh crew is welcomed to the helm of the vintage M/Y Northern Sun.

Viewers can expect complicated 'love pentagons', unruly guests, the return of beloved characters and controversial new crew members.

And there is plenty of bubbling tensions and issues to rock the boat with Captain Jason set to fire a crew member later in the season.

It won't be the first time he's kicked someone off the boat after the reality television star gave crew members Magda Ziomek and Ryan McKeown the boot last season.

However, he promised there would be huge changes in the way he handles misbehaving crew this time around.

'I won't say too much. But it's all dramatic and it's worth it and I think I did the right thing for the boat itself to have the best team at the end,' he said.

Below Deck Down Under season two will air exclusively to Hayu in Australia.
