There’s a boatload of trouble ahead.

Below Deck’s Captain Kerry Titheradge took it personal when he heard talk that returning deckhand Kyle Stillie may have hooked up with a married charter guest in season 12.

While the premiere episode of the season, which aired on Monday, June 2, did not divulge any details about the forthcoming drama, plenty of tea was spilled in the trailer.

"The crew thinks you banged a charter guest," Kerry tells Kyle in the clip.

Snapshots of Kyle getting handsy with a woman on the beach are shown as the other crew members gossip about the scandal, with returning Chief Stew Fraser Olender saying, "That’s not okay."

Kerry teased the incident in an exclusive interview with PEOPLE at his premiere party at the seafood restaurant Docks Off 5th in New York City.

"It looks like Kyle had sex with a charter guest's wife and I had to investigate that," he says. "I had to really question him being there or not based on my findings in the investigation."

The situation elicited an emotional reaction from the captain because of a past experience.

"I was beside myself," Kerry admits. "I had a hard problem leading with emotion. I've been cheated on and I know how it feels. If one of my crew was part of a cheating guest and their partner is on the boat, it hits home."

The Bravo star, returning for his second season, says there is much more for viewers to anticipate – and that the crew gets pretty intimate with one another.

"There's so much I saw in the preview and the first episode that I had no idea about," he says with a chuckle. "So I'm super excited for the fans to get to see what I never got to see. And a lot of that is the whole crew and just the dynamics between the crew."

Kerry continues, "We have a crew from all over the world and we've got some really funny crew. I love the first episode, because you can feel the joy and energy of the people."

The cast of the new season features many fresh faces, including Solene Favreau, who only had 22 days of experience before joining the show. As for what Solene brings to the table, Kerry says, “She’s fun!”

"I was so happy to be around her," he continues. "Don't get me wrong. We had some discussions about her longevity on the boat and she's definitely one of the crew that may have not made it for the whole season, but while she was aboard, she was amazing. A lot of good energy."

The new season follows the crew and charter guests "to the luxurious and lush islands of Anguilla, St. Barths, and St. Maarten," according to a synopsis.

Below Deck premieres new episodes Mondays at 8/7c on Bravo, and streams next day on Peacock.
