Below Deck Mediterranean star Aesha Scott is waiting to go wedding dress shopping.

While chatting with PEOPLE about her new collaboration with Canada Dry, the bride-to-be opened up about her upcoming wedding to fiancé Scott “Scotty” Dobson. The couple of five years announced their engagement in May 2024 and plan to tie the knot in March 2026. Although Scott has nearly a year to pick out her wedding dress, she originally wanted to wait until the "last minute" to do so.

"I just have had so much [going] on, I haven't really dived into the whole process," Scott tells PEOPLE of wedding planning. "I'm very much a last minute, everything comes alive kind of girl."

The Bravo star planned to go dress shopping in January 2026, but was warned by her married friends that picking out a dress two months before the wedding might be cutting it too close for alterations.

"I was going to look at it in January, but my friends [who] have gotten married were like, 'No, don't be stupid,' " she explains. "Because apparently wedding dress alterations, to get them really fitted true to size, can take two or three months because they get so backed up."

Scott realized her friends made a valid point about her "tough" timeframe and decided to move up her bridal appointment.

"So I was like, 'Fine, we'll compromise and we'll go early November,' " she says.

The reality star also notes she "might get onto it" in "October."

"I've always wanted something that is really classic and timeless," she shares. "I'm thinking that I want some sort of really elegant, boob tube type thing that will taper in really small at the waist and then a slight puff out to the skirt."

To maintain a "timeless" feel, she doesn't want anything "too specific of this era."

"I mean, not that I'm ever going to wear it again, but I just want something a little bit more timeless," she says, emphasizing, "I feel like just an elegant, simple boob tube type dress. Those have been around forever. It will stand the test of time, I believe."

Although they're still figuring out wedding specifics, Scott and Dobson have already agreed on what drink needs to be at their nuptials next year.

Scott partnered on Canada Dry Fruit Splash Cherry Ginger Ale, which she says will be a key ingredient of her wedding weekend welcome martini. The "easy" cocktail is called "The Chief Stew" and contains 1 shot each of: vanilla vodka, cherry brandy, sweet vermouth and Canada Dry Fruit Splash.

"I think the reason that it fits so well is, as you probably know with Canada Dry, they really focus on comfort and they really focus on luxury, and I'm someone who's very into my comfort," Scott tells PEOPLE. "...I just want to be cozy, and I wanted to partner with them to create a signature cocktail so that people at home can feel like they're getting the same experience as my guests on the boat."
