With five years of experience, Sous Chef Anthony could easily have been invited onto a charter season as the head chef. But that's not what he was hired to do. Has the Sous Chef experiment officially been broken now? Hiring a Sous Chef for the first time in franchise history was certainly exciting. But was Anthony set up for failure? The series has made a spectacle of making an example of individuals we knew weren’t long for hire. Was Anthony another one of those victims of circumstance? At the end of the day, Anthony did himself in, but he might have been set up for failure. Below Deck was not ready to have a Sous Chef. At least not without warning. In the future, they could be, just maybe with a better-suited combo of individuals.
