The RHONJ confirmed something special is taking place in her Franklin Lakes neighborhood: "I actually can't wait..."
Melissa Gorga can’t stop staring outside her window.
The Real Housewives of New Jersey mom made the admission during an Amazon Live stream, saying “exciting” things were happening outside her Franklin Lakes abode. And, no, Melissa hasn’t embarked on another landscape project. It turns out a movie was being shot at one of her favorite homes in the neighborhood.
“Literally two houses down,” she said about the production. “It’s the most unbelievable house. I actually envy — no pun intended — I actually envy the house. I drive by it all the time… It’s my style of house.”
Melissa Gorga says a movie shoot has caused "craziness" on her street
Melissa told viewers that her street now “looks like insanity,” as it’s abuzz with so much activity.
“There’s so many people that go in. It’s crazy,” she continued. “There’s so many people that go into making a movie. I never even realized it. We fill up the street when [we film] The Real Housewives of New Jersey; this has filled up, like, two streets. It’s insane to even pull out of my house. It’s crazy.”
Melissa didn’t provide many details about the film but confirmed it starred Emmy-winning actress Claire Danes.
“So I actually can’t wait to watch that,” she said. “So, that’s some exciting news that’s going on for me and my house. I’m just staring out of my window at all the craziness going on.”
Melissa and Joe Gorga build their Franklin Lakes home
Melissa and Joe returned to Franklin Lakes nearly two years ago after putting their Montville mansion on the market. However, the Jersey couple didn’t opt for a turn-key property; they decided to build an entirely new home.
Melissa spoke about the experience in a 2022 interview with BravoTV.com, revealing all the hurdles they faced during construction.
“With COVID, there are just so many delays,” she said. “It took us so long just to get the permits to frame, you have no idea. First of all, it’s costing us double the amount of money and it’s taking triple the amount of time to get the materials. So, we’re probably building a house in the absolute worst time possible, but we’re doing it anyway.”
Does Melissa plan on moving again?
Nearly a year after moving into the Franklin Lakes mansion, Melissa was asked if she had plans for another move. The Jersey ’Wife said she considered the property her “forever home,” but wasn’t ruling out a potential upgrade.
“You never know, because I really like the lake across the street,” she said during BravoCon 2023. “If something opens up right across the street, I will buy that. But only on my same street across the street.”
