Tasha Ghouri expressed the heartfelt and profound sentiment behind her latest performance with Aljaz Skorjanec on Strictly Come Dancing, a detail that may have escaped the notice of many viewers.

The former Love Island star, Tasha Ghouri, experienced an emotional moment on the dance floor last weekend during the tenth week of BBC One's hit show Strictly Come Dancing. The pair set a benchmark by receiving the season's first perfect score of 40, topping the leaderboard with a breathtaking American Smooth to Lewis Capaldi's song Someone You Loved.

Tasha, who is the second deaf competitor on the show, impressed the judges and audience alike with majestic lifts and elegant movements. Head judge Shirley Ballas acclaimed their dance as the height of American Smooth sophistication, while Craig Revel Horwood succinctly summed up the performance as "fab-u-lous".

Motsi Mabuse lauded it as an exemplar of "perfection", praising how Tasha brought the emotive Capaldi song to life. Anton Du Beke was deeply moved by their number, remarking that such performances are the reason why dancers dance for "how it makes us feel".

Yet, amidst all the dazzling spectacle, Tasha and Aljaz's routine contained a tender nuance that might not have been recognised by all watching. Professional dancer Aljaz Skorjanec took to Instagram with heartfelt thanks after securing another week on the dance floor, reports

Aljaz couldn't contain his excitement as he continued: "Creating this American Smooth has been one of the biggest joys on @bbcstrictly for me.. Just thinking about the weekend puts a tear in my eye and a smile on my face! @tashaghouri I am losing words to describe how thankful and proud I am of you! Let's SMASH the Musicals week now partner! We are going from my favourite to yours. ARGENTINE TANGO!"

His dance partner Tasha Ghouri echoed his sentiments by reposting his message on her Instagram story, adding: "At the end of the dance it was Lyra's star constellation that lit up."

Strictly Come Dancing's Tasha Ghorui and Aljaz Skorjanec earned the first 40 of the series

Following their poignant performance, Tasha had a quick change from her shimmering silver gown into a stunning blue ensemble adorned with tulle, ready to dazzle once more during the evening's eagerly awaited Dance-A-Thon finale. In an electrifying episode of Strictly Come Dancing, the competition heated up as the seven remaining pairs simultaneously took on the samba.

The judges eliminated couples one by one until only two were left standing. Tasha Ghouri earned herself an additional six points as the second-best performer, just behind JLS star JB Gill, who clinched seven points to win the dance-off. This result propelled both Tasha and JB to the top of the leaderboard for the evening.

On the results show aired Sunday night (November 24), Tasha and her dance partner Aljaz Skorjanec were overjoyed to discover they had advanced to week 11, eagerly anticipating their next routine in the upcoming Musicals Week.

However, the night spelled the end for Jamie Borthwick and Montell Douglas, who faced each other in the dreaded dance-off. After a tense repeat performance from both, the judges had to decide which celebrity would stay in the contest.

Ultimately, the judges reached a unanimous verdict, choosing to save Montell and bid farewell to the EastEnders actor. Reflecting on his experience, Jamie expressed profound gratitude, particularly towards his dance partner.
