Johannes Radebe has admitted to being a 'mess' when facing Strictly Come Dancing's dreaded dance-offs, and praised Montell Douglas for pulling him through.
The pair took a break from training for their next performance on Wednesday (November 27) to appear on Loose Women. Olympian Montell and professional dancer Johannes will be looking to bounce back during the next live show on Saturday night (November 30) after having to fight for their place in the BBC One dance contest's quarter-final.
The pair already appeared to bounce back during the latest live show last Saturday night (November 23) after surviving being in the bottom two during the previous weekend's Blackpool special.
As they returned to the Elstree Studios ballroom, Montell and Johannes performed their quickstep to Get Happy by Ella Fitzgerald again in a bid to impress the judges.
They had received a very impressive score of 37 out of a possible 40 for the routine with Anton Du Beke saying it was their best performance since their couple’s choice. However, Craig Revel Horwood thought it looked "a bit stiff" at the beginning but felt the dynamics were "out of this world".
Then, during Sunday night's (November 24) results show, Gladiator Montell and Johannes found themselves under the dreaded red light for a second week in a row, this time alongside EastEnders star Jamie Borthwick and his professional dance partner Michelle Tsiakkas.
Both couples performed their routines again in the hope of making it through to next weekend's quarter-final. The judges unanimously agreed to save Montell and Johannes, sending Jamie and Michelle home and out of the competition and Montell and Johannes through to the quarter final of Strictly's 20th-anniversary series.
Appearing on Loose Women, Motell and Johannes addressed being in the latest dance-off for the first time. Johannes said: "I'm going to be honest, I have been a blubbering mess, for the past three dance-offs and this woman here has been like, 'It's not over!'"
One of the ITV show's panelists Coleen Nolan then questioned why he's been so emotional, asking: "What is that Johannes? Is that because as her trainer you somehow feel you've let her down?" He replied: "You've let her down, yeah. This is not my first rodeo I've never pushed somebody like I've pushed Montell. But it's not that, it's how she's pushed me as a trainer."
Loose Women's anchor Christine Lampard, who has taken part in Strictly herself, then asked Montell if finding herself in the dreaded dance-off once again makes it easier to tackle now she's experienced it before. Montell replied "It does I think, It never gets easier. I don't think it's easier but I definitely think mindset for sure comes in straight away. He [Johannes] always jokes that I'm coaching him on the dance-off! I'm like, 'We've got this'..."
