Dianne Buswell has declared her love for her partner Joe Sugg after he was there to support her during another big night in her career, just months after winning Strictly Come Dancing.

The professional dancer, who met Joe on the hit dance show when they competed together back in 2018, was among the nominees at this year's Bafta Television Awards, which took place on Sunday (May 11).

She was joined at London's Royal Festival Hall by Joe following her nomination in the 'memorable moment' category alongside Chris McCausland for one of the many outstanding performance during the 2024 run of the BBC One dance contest.

Fans will recall that there were tears aplenty back in December when they lifted the coveted Glitterball trophy, with their win also making history as Chris was the show's first-ever blind contestant, as they beat off competition from their fellow series finalists.

But the pair had reason to celebrate again as they won the memorable moment award, which is voted for by the public, at the TV Baftas. The winning couple's Waltz to the Liverpool anthem You'll Never Walk Alone was the performance that earned them the nomination.

The magical performance, which they recreated during the Strictly final back in December, saw Dianne leave the ballroom floor so her partner could dance on his own before she returned to spinning in his arms moments later in tear-jerking scenes.

Accepting their award, Dianne said on stage: "In one minute and 30 seconds of a dance, I feel like this told such a story. A story of hope, determination, resilience and vulnerability, all in that one minute 30." She added: "This moment meant so much to the both of us, so I’m just so thrilled that we have this."

Dianne mentioned that Chris had prepped her with something to say on his behalf just in case they won as she said: "Chris did have something he wanted me to say, and that is ‘After 22 years in comedy, he wins a Bafta for dancing,"' before joking that it "hurts".

Dianne has since taken to social media to reflect on the night, sharing a number of gorgoeus snaps to Instagram in which she could be seen getting glam for the annual event before hitting the red carpet and posing with her award.

The 36-year-old shared: "@bafta and @pandocruises thank you for such a wonderful evening and thank you ever so much for matching the bafta with my dress.

"Also I had him sew on my earrings that I kept from that dance as a broach you can’t really see them but I knew they were there and I love that it had that little something feom our waltz on it . I did consider making a bespoke bag that looked like Chris head but thought that might be a little too much.

"Also a big thank you to my rock @joe_sugg you are my biggest support and I love you so much. Another big thank you to @seacontainersldn for letting us stay in one of your new suits it was absolutely beautiful I’ll share some bits of the room soon."

Strictly co-star Amy Dowden was quick to gush: "So deserved and so beautiful."
