Strictly Come Dancing's Motsi Mabuse revealed her sentiments about missing a particular professional on the popular BBC programme. Speaking with the Loose Women panel on Friday, the esteemed judge shared her anticipation for the live show that is set to commence this weekend, but also noted some familiar professional dancers will not be gracing the dance floor this season.
Among the missing is Oti Mabuse, Motsi's sister, who departed from Strictly in 2022. When Denise Welch enquired: "Do you miss your sis on the show?" Motsi confessed: "I do miss her because there's that silent connection when your sister is there. When she walked past or when she was sitting across."
She went on to explain her sense of comfort in seeing her sister on set: "You have to imagine I came from Germany to a whole close-knit family and I'm the new one, so just seeing her I felt like, 'Ok, everything is going to be ok.'"
Motsi also disclosed to the panel how she keeps in touch with her sister amidst their bustling schedules. After Judi Love asked about maintaining their relationship, Motsi responded enthusiastically, "We're very connected, I would say it doesn't matter which social media or telephone or whatever, we are on the phone with each other day and night!" reports the Express.
The Strictly judge has opened up about her close bond with sister Oti, revealing that they now speak more frequently since Oti became a mother, exchanging parenting tips. Motsi, being the elder sibling, admits she tries to respect Oti's space in her new role as a parent. She shared: "We're really, really connected. That's one thing my dad said to us. He said, 'Anything can happen on this planet but you have your sisters and you need to know that and stick to that'".
While Oti may not be gracing the BBC dance floor this year, fans are excited at the news that Aljaz Skorjanec will return to the show.
After leaving alongside Oti, the 34 year old dancer is set to compete for the glitterball trophy once more, partnering with Love Island's Tasha Ghouri in his comeback year.
