Fans of the pair are scrambling to find an explanation after Matt shocked fans when he shared an Instagram post announcing that the couple had broken up.

Although fans are desperately trying to find any clue they can that proves the announcement wasn't real, The U.S. Sun revealed yesterday that it is very much real and left Rachael feeling "humiliated".
Sharing the bombshell announcement on Instagram in the early hours of Thursday morning, Matt shared a snap of him and Rachael on Bachelor when they made it to the final.
"Father God, give Rachael and I strength to mend our broken hearts.
"Give us peace about this decision to end our relationship that transcends worldly understanding," Matt penned in the shocking and unexpected post.
He added: "Shower our friends and family with kindness and love to comfort us.
"And remind us that our Joy comes from you, Lord," complete with a broken heart emoji.
Fans were instantly baffled by the announcement because Matt had been posting content all week about his and Rachael’s trip to London.
The Bachelor star had even been sharing photos of all the food they had tried on their trip, with a photo of her pizza on his Instagram story when the announcement was made.
And now some fans are convinced that the because the announcement was so out of the blue, there must be something else going on.

Social media user Olivia Schueller shared a bizarre and unfounded theory on TikTok about an engagement.

She said: "What if he is playing around with us right now to say they ended the relationship as boyfriend and girlfriend but they’re actually engaged?"
Another TikToker outlandishly claimed that they are "secretly engaged", adding how they want to "throw people off" with Matt's post about their split.
'SHE WAS BLINDSIDED'
This comes after a source close to the couple exclusively told The U.S. Sun that Rachael was taken aback by the announcement that Matt shared, and felt totally "blindsided".
The TV star's family are still trying to piece together what’s going on, the source revealed to us.
“Everyone is confused and still trying to get to the bottom of what happened but first and foremost, they’re supporting Rachael and making sure she's okay," the source spilled.
“They didn't know they were fully broken up. Rachael is being pretty quiet right now but I know she was blindsided by Matt's post.
“She didn't know he was going to do that and definitely wouldn't have approved of it if she did.
“And she thinks it's just as weird as everyone else does, she’s humiliated that's how the news came out,” the insider said.
The source went on to say that Rachael is “the one who pulled the plug, full stop” and that while Matt “knows what he did”, ultimately, it is her story to tell.
Matt and Rachael met while filming season 25 of The Bachelor in September 2020, with their relationship lasting for more than four years.
The couple have now broken up, although Rachael has not addressed the split on her own social media pages yet.
