Austen Kroll is speaking out about a video in which he was seen seemingly being caught cheating on his girlfriend, Madison LeCroy, with two women
After Madison made her debut on Southern Charm‘s season six premiere on Wednesday, Austen claims that while the video may have suggested he was unfaithful, that wasn’t the case at all.
“I guess what I can say is that was very early on [in our relationship],” Austen told Entertainment Tonight on May 15. “[That was] Madison and I trying to figure out what we were. We both hadn’t done the, you know, ‘you’re my girlfriend, and you’re my boyfriend’ talk, right?”
In addition to not being in an exclusive relationship with Madison at the time the video was taped, Austen denied having slept with either one of the women in the clip but did admit that he wasn’t 100 percent sure nothing happened months later and said he was “out of [his] mind” at the time.
In the video, Madison asked one of the ladies if she “f**ked [Austen] last night.” Although the woman said she did not have sex with him, Madison wasn’t convinced and asked, “So then why are your panties lying by the bed?!”
“Because they slept in my f**king bedroom,” Austen interjected.
“We definitely were both trying to push it to see how much the other person cared,” Austen continued to ET. “‘I’m going to go out tonight and I’m not going to talk to her. See if that bothers her,’ or vice versa. And so, we had this talk, right? Because she was talking about the fact that her ex, like, wouldn’t leave her alone. You tell me to leave you alone and I will never — I’m gone. And, we kind of had one of those moments. I was like, fine, fine.”
“So, I busied myself and it didn’t turn out so well,” he admitted. “Because she showed up the next day and was like, ‘Wait! I want to talk things over.'”
While Austen and Madison, a single mom, are still together at this time, he has admittedly wondered if their relationship is strong enough to withstand the challenges of reality television.
“I knew that coming into this season, that it wasn’t going to be an easy ride,” he shared. “It wasn’t going to be easy going. So, I kind of just prepared the both of us like, ‘Hey, look…’ — because we can control, I guess, what we talk about, but I can’t control what [our co-stars are] saying behind our back to whoever out there.”
Following Wednesday’s premiere, Madison made a brief appearance on Watch What Happens Live, where she confirmed to Andy Cohen that she does believe Austen cheated on her. Then, during the same episode, Andy asked Madison if she cheated on Austen in retaliation for what he did, and she admitted that was the case and that she had warned him ahead of time that she would be retaliating.
After Madison’s comment, however, Austen seemed to suggest Madison didn’t intend on her infidelity being made public, which would make her retaliation claim untrue.
“What an absolute fabrication. Madison, lied to me and begged the guy to not tell me about her indiscretion,” he tweeted. “Unbelievable #WWHL.”
