Ashley Jacobs is speaking out about Kathryn Dennis‘ recently reconciled friendship with Patricia Altschul.
After seeing that the two women watched last week’s Southern Charm reunion together after years of tension, Ashley, the controversial girlfriend of longtime cast member Thomas Ravenel, claimed that Patricia once applauded her for making horrible statements about the mother of her boyfriend’s two kids.
“Yeah, good for them, you know,” Ashley said during an interview with The Daily Dish on July 24. “I think it’s interesting because Patricia said some things, like she was the one rooting me on, and when I had said the things that I had said about Kathryn, she liked it. She applauded me for it. She was supportive, so it was just really interesting for me to see that. But, you know, it’s like that saying, ‘The enemy of my enemy is my friend.'”
According to Ashley, Thomas finds Patricia and Kathryn’s relationship “upsetting” because he apparently spent so much time trying to bring them together.
“So it’s interesting,” Ashley continued. “But I’m sure Kathryn appreciates that support, and who wouldn’t?”
Earlier this year, during her own interview with The Daily Dish, Patricia explained her decision to give Kathryn another chance after previously being concerned about her past behavior.
“I have not really been friendly with Kathryn nor have I invited her to anything for about four years,” she said. “I was concerned about her previous behavior, the volatility, the drug situation. But in the last year, Whitney [Sudler-Smith] has been telling me how she’s changed, how she’s really been an exemplary parent, she’s fun, she’s kind, she’s nice to be with. There’s no evidence whatsoever of that past behavior and so I just thought it was time. I was looking forward to seeing her and getting to know her.”
In other Southern Charm news, Patricia recently weighed in on the rumors regarding Ashley’s alleged escort past, which reportedly began on Instagram after someone contacted Kathryn in hopes of having her relay the information to Thomas.
“Somebody had said something to me about it but something like that is hard to prove,” she explained to Amy Phillips on Reality Checked. “Quite frankly, it doesn’t make a difference. She’s still ghastly. It doesn’t make a difference if she’s an escort or not. She’s just absolutely ghastly.”
Patricia went on to reveal details of her first meeting with Ashley.
“When I first met her, she was what I would call obsequiously sweet and I’m always suspicious of that because that is hiding something dark [and] deep rooted. When they are syrupy sweet, that’s when you know you have to be on guard,” she admitted.
“Let me just say, I met her, she was obsequiously sweet which was a red flag but I didn’t think much about it. I just thought it would be like that, but ongoing,” she continued. “Then, Whitney and I had dinner with Thomas and Ashley, I think it was before filming even started. Whitney and Thomas were at the bar, they knew people. Whitney was floating around and I was sitting there with Ashley and for an hour and a half, she did nothing but talk about Kathryn. Kathryn and the nanny, Kathryn’s mother. You know how fast she talks? I never said a word the entire time. She said stuff that clearly Thomas had told her, even things I had never heard before. So, I learned things from Ashley about Kathryn… [rumors about Kathryn]. That’s all she talked about. She clearly was obsessed.”
