Bravo fans just got another Karen Huger update from her Real Housewives of Potomac co-star Ashley Darby.
Huger, who was arrested for a DUI last year, is currently serving her one-year prison sentence at Montgomery County Correctional Facility in Maryland. While Darby hasn’t “talked to her directly” since her sentence began in February, she’s heard that Huger is “doing OK.”
“Her birthday was recent and she had some visits from her family so she was very happy with that,” Darby said on Sunday night’s (May 18) episode of Watch What Happens Live. “But she’s doing OK. Apparently, she’s running the roost in there — in a very Karen way.”
Their fellow Real Housewives of Potomac co-star Gizelle Bryant said something similar when she stopped by the Bravo Clubhouse last month.
“I have been in contact with someone who is very close to her about her safety and all that,” Bryant told host Andy Cohen at the time. “And from what I understand, they love her up in where she is right now. They absolutely love her. They are loving the Grande Dame. You know she is running that thing.”
Bryant added, “I feel very good about the fact that she’s safe.”
Huger was arrested in March 2024 after she was involved in a high-speed car accident that totaled her vehicle. While she was hit with a DUI charge and six other traffic violations, she maintained her innocence, claiming she swerved to avoid a head-on collision with another car that was allegedly driving toward her.

Huger, who has had four DUI arrests in the past 17 years, was ultimately found guilty on all charges except reckless driving. In police camera footage from the night of her arrest, which was released to the public following her trial, Huger admits to being “lit” and bizarrely refers to herself as “Thomas Jefferson’s concubine.” She was sentenced to to two years in prison with one year suspended, meaning she will spend one whole year in prison and will have her license suspended for another year.
Watch What Happens Live airs Sunday through Thursday at 10 p.m. ET on Bravo. New episodes are available to stream the next day on Peacock.
