Artemi Panarin addressed his injury after Thursday’s practice and made clear that he is all good.
Panarin went into the locker room late in the third period of the New York Rangers’ 6-4 preseason victory over the Islanders after suffering a lower-body injury.
Despite some concerns about his health, Panarin made clear there was nothing wrong and his exit was just precautionary.
“I thought maybe I should stay, but it’s preseason games, so try to be safe,” Panarin said.
It was a good sign that Panarin wasn’t practicing in a red jersey, further confirming his overall status.
When asked if he expects to play another preseason game, the superstar forward did not hesitate before saying yes.
The Rangers play tonight against the Boston Bruins where Panarin will not be in the lineup, but he should see one or two more games of preseason action before the start of the regular season on Oct. 9.
