Ariana Biermann addressed her stunning revelation on Next Gen NYC that parents Kim Zolciak and Kroy Biermann took her money to cover bills amid their financial problems. The 23-year-old also shared how she’s now doing financially, and where she stands with Kroy and Kim today.
For several years, Kim and Kroy have been going through a contentious divorce. They reportedly face over $1 million in tax debt, and both sides have seemingly blamed the other. At times, Ariana was caught in the middle.
In the season one premiere of Next Gen NYC, which just aired, Ariana claimed that her parents took her money to cover bills and expenses. But according to the star, she doesn’t know how much they spent or what exactly they used it for, as no one was truthful.
In an interview for Us Weekly, Ariana said the current perception is that she spends Kim and Kroy’s money, though “that’s obviously not the case.”
“I just continue to build up and make my own money, support myself as being a 23-year-old and just continue to try to take every opportunity I can to build back up everything,” she said ahead of the premiere. “I think I’m the [most] financially stable I’ve ever been in my life, which is awesome. And my mom’s doing great too. She’s working really hard and has a lot of great things going for her, and my dad’s working too — so everything’s going in the right direction and moving forward.”
The star said she tries not to let money impact her dynamic with her parents because “money is such a stressful thing for everybody.”
Talking to PEOPLE, Ariana insists Kim “is very good at paying” her back for the money that she allegedly took from her. “She’s done a few shows, which is amazing, and they take a second to get paid out for everything,” she said.
“My mom always pays me back though, but it’s definitely gotten better,” Ariana continued. “She’s working really hard.”
In a separate interview with PEOPLE, Ariana shared more about her relationship with Kroy.
“It goes through waves a little bit,” she said. “The divorce has been very difficult and very messy, and my mom is my best friend, and it’s really hard to watch … A lot of these things go on, but I try to keep it separate, so we go in waves … [He and I are] going to talk soon.”
Ariana shared that Kroy gave her the okay to discuss their issues on Next Gen NYC.
“He hasn’t said anything about it since it came out or anything,” she expressed. “But you have to sign a release for these things in order to talk about things, and he was willing to do that for me and was okay with me sharing my story and the things that have gone on over the last couple of years, and he’s been supportive in that.”
