The Las Vegas Raiders dropped their final game of the season to the Los Angeles Chargers.
The team will finish with a record of 4-13 in a season full of struggles and will now have a lot of questions to finally answer. One major issue that will need to be addressed is the future of head coach Antonio Pierce, who had a short response to a question asked by a reporter in the postgame press conference.
Pierce has been on the hot seat for the majority of the 2024 season after struggling to create a winning formula for the Raiders. He has also been heavily criticized by fans, especially when the team won back-to-back games after already being eliminated from playoff contention. Before those wins, Las Vegas held the number one pick in the draft, but they are now out of the top five in the order.
Pierce was asked by a reporter postgame if he has been given any clarity on his role as a head coach moving forward, to which he replied with, "No comment."
Pierce also used the same answer when he was asked if he felt he deserved to be back as the head coach next season.
Both Pierce and other members of the Raiders like general manager Tom Telesco and owner Mark Davis have consistently declined to comment on what the future holds for the head coach.
While the majority of Raider Nation wants him gone, it hasn't been completely set in stone. However, it is worth noting that minority owner Tom Brady is expected to play a pivotal role in the Raiders franchise moving forward. With him having Davis' ear and no ties to Pierce, it could equate to the team moving on.
