Due to the Las Vegas Raiders' win in Week 16 over the Jacksonville Jaguars, they lost possession of the No. 1 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. With two games left, it's possible for the Raiders to get it back.
However, Raiders head coach Antonio Pierce shared his frustrations with the media and their questions focused on the No. 1 pick instead of the victory over the Jaguars, per ESPN's Paul Gutierrez.
After the game, Raiders owner Mark Davis was seen jovial, clapping and enjoying his time with players and coaches in the locker room.
Many Raiders fans are frustrated with the team's apparent indifference to their draft status and enjoyment of a win that many feel has little meaning.
"Spoken like a Coach that knows his job is in jeopardy. If he knew he’d be back, he’d value the big picture," said one fan.
"You lost 10 games in a row, looks like you were losing. The team that had a few core players to build on is now a fire sale, Bowers is the only one safe to be a raider next year, Crosby will be gone for draft picks, and we will be even worse next year and no QB," replied another fan.
"Easy to say when you won’t be around next year," read one reply.
"Didn’t matter much the first 14 games apparently 😕," one comment said.
"He knows he’s done. He doesn’t care about the bigger picture. This is the issue of not having job stability and why I actually liked Gruden’s 10 year contract. Aligned incentives to win over the long haul." said another.
The Raiders (3-12) finish the season with contests against the New Orleans Saints and Los Angeles Chargers.
