Andy Cohen was “surprised” to hear Bethenny Frankel launched a “Real Housewives” podcast, but isn’t about to turn down more publicity around the Bravo franchise.
Frankel — who has been on and off of “The Real Housewives of New York City” since its premiere in 2008 and left for good in 2019 — announced her podcast “Rewives” recently, despite often being vocal about her disdain for the series.
“I was a little surprised,” Cohen admitted to Page Six at the Humane Society gala last week, “but again I was like, ‘Oh, this is good, good for you.’ The more ‘Housewives’ podcasts the better.”
Not all of Frankel’s former colleagues have been as supportive about the new business venture as Cohen.
Earlier this month Luann de Lesseps took aim at the podcast accusing her of “sh–ting on the show.”
“It’s pretty sad and pathetic,” the cabaret singer said on “Everything Iconic.” “She has to resort to ‘Housewives’ because of all her failed pivots since the ‘Housewives.’ It’s a pretty desperate scenario.”

Carole Radziwill also criticized the podcast claiming Frankel has built her brand by “trashing” her former castmates.
“Oh lordy…how original,” Radziwill — who starred on “RHONY” from 2012 to 2018 — tweeted when a fan asked what she thought about Frankel’s podcast.
“But she did build her brand by trashing& mocking women specifically the HWs & Betheny always returns to what she does best. I mean right out the gate she trash talks the other HW podcasts. Lol. Good luck to her. Somethings will never change,” Radziwill added.

Frankel has defended herself against the critics.
“For those of you who don’t understand why I did it, because I get that I walked away, I didn’t want to be a part of it, it wasn’t what I thought i should be doing at my life, and I wasn’t proud of it,” she said on an Instagram Story.
“This is my perspective, my story, my show, my experience,” she continued, “versus a situation where we didn’t control the editing, and we didn’t control the process, and we didn’t control who we surrounded ourselves with, and the trips we went on, we weren’t in charge.”

The Bravo honcho teased that Page Six was “in the ballpark” on who we reported is on the shortlist for the “Legacy” spinoff which includes Jill Zarin, Kelly Bensimon, Dorinda Medley, Luann de Lesseps and Sonja Morgan.
One former “Housewife,” who definitely won’t be on, is Ramona Singer who told Page Six that she’s not interested.
“I do not want to do the show any longer,” she told us “It’s not for me at this time.”
But sources tell us that Bravo didn’t offer Singer an opportunity to return.

Earlier this year, the network announced an entirely new “RHONY” cast and plans to introduce a “Legacy” edition, which would feature fan favorites from earlier seasons.
Amy Sedaris and Justin Theroux, who brought along his pit bull rescue dog Kuma, were also in attendance at the gala, which was hosted by Cohen.
