Cohen’s friend and Bravo cohort, Million Dollar Listing New York and Owning Manhattan real estate agent Ryan Serhant, announced on May 21 that he’d sold the West Village apartment Cohen once called his “dream” home. Cohen spent years combining four units into his ideal dwelling, complete with four bedrooms, four-and-a-half bathrooms, wood-burning fireplaces and a steam room.
The talk show host’s apartment originally hit the market at $14 million last September, before selling this month following a $2 million price cut.
Cohen confirmed to People earlier this year that he was moving with his two children — Benjamin, born 2019, and Lucy, born 2022 — to a 3,000-square-foot apartment nearby in the West Village for a staggering $18 million price tag. The Bravo executive said his main reason for leaving his “dream” apartment was a desire for more outdoor space for his son and daughter..
“Outdoor space was the decision! I always have coveted outdoor space,” he explained. “There is a dearth of inventory in the West Village with outdoor space. So when I found something that was meaningful enough for me to leave my dream apartment, which is where I’m living now — my apartment that I built and spent so many years building — that’s what it took.”
When Serhant announced the property was for sale last year, he confirmed he’d always hoped to sell it after visiting Cohen for a playdate with their kids.
“I remember the first time I stepped foot in Andy Cohen’s West Village apartment. My jaw dropped,” he recalled via Instagram. “I saw 25 windows with unobstructed views. I saw wood burning fireplaces. I saw an immaculate renovation and gorgeous finishes, a super fun design and an incredible floorplan for four bedrooms over 3,500 SF. And then Andy said, ‘Hey! Stop looking at my home like a broker. You’re here for a play date with our kids. I’m never selling!’ Well. Never is now.”
Cohen lived in his previous West Village home for 21 years before putting it up for sale.
