Andy Cohen Reveals a Thoughtful Approach for the New Season of 'RHONJ': 'We’re Not Rushing, Everything Has Its Purpose

The future of the Bravo reality series has been up in the air since season 14 ended. The latest installment of the show saw the cast divided into warring factions due to Teresa Giudice and Melissa Gorga’s ongoing feud. It ended on an unresolved note, without the traditional reunion special.

The stalemate among the ladies of the Garden State has led to fan speculation that RHONJ might be headed for a hard reboot with an all-new cast, similar to the one RHONYC had after its lackluster 13th season. But in a recent interview, Cohen declined to confirm that Bravo was cleaning house in New Jersey.

Cohen chatted with Deadline while he was in Miami for the Bravo Fan Fest. He said the network is taking it slow as far deciding what’s next for the Real Housewives of New Jersey. But he did share that fans aren’t likely to see the cast (old or new) back on TV anytime soon.

“We are taking our time. We are in no rush,” he said.

Instead, Cohen said he was looking forward to the next chapter for other shows in the Housewives franchise.

“We’re really gratified with what’s on the slate for next year,” he said. “[For instance], the new Atlanta, which I’m seven episodes in of watching, it’s outstanding. I’m so excited for people to see this, and they’re going to see it early next year.”

The Real Housewives of Miami is also shooting “an absolute blowaway season,” Cohen said, and The Real Housewives of Orange County is going strong.

Andy Cohen stands by controversial ‘RHONY’ reboot

The Watch What Happens Live host also stands by the Real Housewives of New York City reboot, which premiered in 2023. Not all long-time fans have embraced the new cast, which includes Jenna Lyons, Brynn Whitfield, and Jessel Tank as replacements for long-time stars such as Luann de Lesseps, Ramona Singer, and Sonja Morgan.

“I think there are a lot of interesting personal stories with the women in the new New York,” Cohen said, though he admitted “the group dynamic is a little bit of a challenge this season.”

“I really believe in this group of women,” he continued. “I think they’re very aspirational. I think they’re fun to watch. I think the clothes and the window into a different kind of New York is all what we wanted it to be.”

“So with this group of RHONY, we’re kind of looking to the future with them,” Cohen added. “I loved the original, but this is a new group.”

The Real Housewives of New Jersey is streaming on Peacock.
