Andy Cohen’s 2-year-old daughter Lucy has beef with another Disney character, and she can’t stop thinking about it even on vacation. The adorable toddler opened up about how “scared” she is from one of Mickey Mouse’s friends on Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, and she had the sweetest response when her dad asked how he could help.
“Lucy, what’s the problem with Mickey Mouse’s friend Pete?” Cohen asks his daughter in a video shared to his Instagram story today. The Bravo TV host is hanging out in paradise, with a clear blue sky above him, towering palm trees in the background, and sand surrounding him. Unfortunately for him, toddler problems don’t go away just because you are on vacation.
“I’m scared of Pete,” Lucy answers from off camera in the cutest toddler voice. Cohen asks what Pete did to make her scared of him, and Lucy responds with a squeal, “He said, ‘Ahh!’” Man, she is so cute! I bet this little girl could get away with murder in her dad’s eyes.
Cohen repeated the sound to be sure, then commented, “Well, that’s OK.”
“What can I do to help you?” Cohen asks. And Lucy’s response is how we really know Cohen is wrapped around her little finger: “To protect me from Pete,” she says. Aww! Words to any dad’s heart.
“I will always protect you from Pete and from everybody else,” Cohen assures her. He is such a caring dad! Then he adds, “But I don’t think Pete’s gonna do anything to you. I think he’s OK.”
Lucy doesn’t seem to be really listening, as she suddenly thinks of another scary character. “Even Goofy!” she said.
“OK, I’ll protect you from everybody,” Cohen says, before giving his daughter a kiss. Well, everybody but Mickey Mouse himself, of course, because like Lucy says next, “Mickey Mouse is not scared.” (Which, we and Cohen seem to think means, Mickey Mouse is not scary.)
This isn’t the first time Lucy has been scared of an animated character on Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. The Watch What Happens Live! star shared a video of his daughter last month, where she declares, “Daisy Duck is mean!”
“No, she’s not mean!” Cohen responds with a laugh. “She’s nice! She’s Daisy Duck. They’re all nice. Mickey Mouse, all of them. And Daisy Duck, too. Why do you think she’s mean?”
“Because the road is taken,” Lucy cryptically responded. Fans-in-the-know commented on the post to shed some light on what Lucy meant: she was mean to Mickey on an episode called “Daisy’s Road Trip.” Cohen took to Instagram to thank the followers who helped him translate.
“The commenters are right. She saw Daisy Duck in some show that involves a road, and Daisy’s very bossy,” Cohen said. “I need to start listening to my children,” he continues with a sigh. “That’s what I need to do.”
