Andy Cohen's two kids, Benjamin Allen Cohen and Lucy Eve Cohen, have big plans for the future.
The Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen host took to his Instagram account on Dec. 29, where he posted a video of him driving, asking his children what they wanted to do in the new year. "Tell me something fun you want to do next year," Andy asked his kids, sitting in the backseat of the car. Ben had his own idea of "fun." "Something fun?" he asked. "Not going to camp."
Meanwhile, Lucy had a completely different idea. "Running," she replied. Andy's plans for the new year? "Build a lot of Legos with you guys and swim in the ocean with you guys."
But Ben was not having this, telling his father that they weren't going to the ocean if sharks were going to be there. "No, there's no sharks in the ocean," Andy told him, concluding that he just wants to "have fun" with his kids. "New Year's Resolutions with the kids...I tried!" Andy wrote in the caption of the post. "NOTE: There are no sharks in the shallow little area of our ocean where they'd swim. So don't call me a liar in the comments!"
This is just one of the moments that Andy has shared with his kids, Ben and Lucy, that give an inside look at his life as a parent and single dad.
Andy has two kids — a son named Ben and a daughter named Lucy. But don't expect Andy to be expanding his family any time soon.
"No I do not [want to have more kids]," Andy told Us Weekly in November 2022. "I'm good. Let me answer that very quickly. That being said, if I fall in love tomorrow and someone wants...I mean, then we're gonna have to talk."
Andy welcomed Ben into the world, via surrogate, on Feb. 4, 2019. The little boy turned 5 years old on Feb. 4, 2024.
Andy welcomed his second child, Lucy, into the world also through a surrogate, according to People, on April 29, 2022. She turned 2 years old on April 29, 2024.
Andy appeared on WWHL in February 2024, where he counted down the top five things he learned about being a father from Ben, in honor of his fifth birthday. This ranged from lessons like "breakfast food is a loose concept" to "Anna is the star of Frozen."
But, most importantly, Andy shared that the number one thing that Ben taught him "this year and every year" is "that you can find joy in just about anything." Awwww.
It's safe to say that both Andy and Ben are grateful to have Lucy in their lives. Andy took to Instagram on Lucy's second birthday, where he opened up about Lucy's best traits and what she brings to their family home.
"It is so exciting getting to know my daughter; she's a smart, funny, sweetheart who surprises me every day," he wrote in the caption of the post. "And the female energy Lucy is shining all over this house is welcome and needed! It's getting really fun over here!"
Andy's life can get a little chaotic, but his children bring him so much peace. Andy opened up about this in a Nov. 2023 interview with TODAY. "But Ben today: I was like, 'Ben I love you.' He goes, 'However many stars there are in the sky is how much I love you,' And I'm set for the day," he recalled.
"I don't give a f--k what anybody is saying about me on Twitter," he continued. "This little boy loves me for as many stars as there are? The rest doesn't really matter!"
Andy opened up to People about his bond with his daughter in an interview with People on Dec. 19, 2024. "Ben is love bombing me so much, and Lucy also is so — any quality time that she and I get alone without Ben, she's so excited about," he said.
"I took her to the doctor today and she talked about it like I was taking her, you know, to see the Rockettes," he continued. "She's like, 'Daddy and I — just Daddy and I — are going to the doctor, just Daddy and I.' So she's very much just daddy's little girl."
Andy currently lives in NYC with his two kids, and will be moving in March to a new place with a "great outdoor space." Although it's unclear what borough Andy will be living in with this new home, it's the perfect place for him to raise his family — and it took him a lot to move out of his old apartment.
"There is a dearth of inventory in the West Village with outdoor space," Andy told People in Nov. 2024. "So when I found something that was meaningful enough for me to leave my dream apartment, which is where I'm living now — my apartment that I built and spent so many years building — that's what it took."
Andy had listed his 3,500 square foot apartment in the West Village for sale in September 2024 after living there since 2003. He listed it with Ryan Serhant for $14 million, and the duplex is complete with wood-burning fireplaces, a steam room, a luxurious home bar, and a massive disco ball.
The duplex also has a massive TV room (perfect for watching cartoons in) and a comfy home office.
Andy is not in a public relationship, but he hasn't been shy about wanting to date and find the right person for him. "I feel for me, whenever I find someone that I'm like, 'Wait a minute, this is a quality person,' I will make time," he told Us Weekly in 2022.
During a Jan. 25, 2024 episode of WWHL, Andy admitted that he was ready to meet someone. "I'm single and ready to mingle, absolutely," he said.
But he told TODAY in May 2023 that he doesn't mind raising both his kids on his own. "I want to be everything for them," he said. "As a single parent, there is the feeling of, 'I need to be there' and I'm always kicking myself for time not spent with them and trying to dissect what it all means and seeking out parent friends for advice."
"But I wouldn't change it for the world, by the way," he added.
