Andy Cohen opened up about parenting during an interview over the weekend.
In addition to looking back on his interview on Meghan Markle‘s podcast and teasing Vicki Gunvalson‘s potential full-time return to The Real Housewives of Orange County, the Watch What Happens Live host shared the most challenging part of raising his 4-year-old son Ben and 1-year-old daughter Lucy as he also spoke of his summer plans.
“I have a new beach house that I finished, and I’m excited just to share that with them,” Andy said during a July 2 interview with Us Weekly after being asked what he’ll be doing in the coming weeks.
After then stating that he is “really happy” with the 17th season of RHOC, Andy said he anticipates Vicki will join her fellow Tres Amigas, Tamra Judge, and Shannon Beador in full-time roles on its potential 18th season.
“I think so. I think so,” he teased.
As fans may have heard, Andy made an appearance on Meghan’s podcast, Archetypes, in late 2022. And, afterwards, Meghan described the taping as “tough” and spoke of her conflicting feelings about the Real Housewives franchise, which Andy discussed further.
“I would love for her to come on Watch What Happens Live,” he admitted, noting, “I’m sure we’ve invited her.”
As for the rumors suggesting Meghan doesn’t actually conduct her own podcast interviews, Andy labeled the suggestion as “insane.”
“She definitely did. That’s an insane rumor… Of course she did,” he confirmed. “And she was quite well researched and well informed and thoughtful.”
Moving on to parenting, Andy said that when it comes to his advice for new dads, he believes patience is key.
“Get in touch with your patience. And your life is not your own anymore,” he declared.
He then said the most challenging part of parenting is his kids’ tantrums.
“It’s the tantrums, navigating the tantrums… I started my day with him ripping me out of bed at 6:15 in the morning, which I can deal with, but it’s really the tantrums,” Andy revealed. “You’re supposed to let them pass and say ‘I understand you’re frustrated. I understand this must be upsetting,’ but it’s… I need someone to calm me down [afterwards].”
