Andy Cohen Gives Update on New Year’s Eve 2025 With Anderson Cooper - lulu

Andy Cohen is excited to ring in  New Year’s 2025 with pal Anderson Cooper.

During Cooper’s December 16 appearance on “Watch What Happens Live,” Cohen admitted that he can’t wait for his annual New Year’s Eve co-hosting gig with Cooper on CNN. “And Anderson and I will be saluting the New Year with shots of tequila this year, which I am providing,” he added. “I always bring the tequila, literally. On my own dime!”

As they rang in 2022, Cohen and Cooper got a little rowdy as they drank De Nada tequila and Japanese shochu brand Mujen throughout the broadcast, according to BravoTV.com. The network cut them off the following year, so the duo welcomed 2023 with non-alcoholic mystery drinks such as pickle juice shots. For 2024, the tequila returned.

While Cohen and Cooper’s on-air drinking has raised eyebrows in the past, the Bravo host thinks his hardworking bestie definitely deserves to celebrate after his dangerous, boots-on-the-ground coverage of Hurricane Milton in Florida earlier this year. “After what Anderson did in that hurricane, I’m not only giving him tequila, I’m throwing it at him,” Cohen previously teased to Variety.

Fans Reacted to Andy & Anderson’s NYE Promo

CNN has already released a promo to tease Cohen and Cooper’s New Year’s Eve show. The cheeky clip features the two having a misunderstanding over news headlines, and it highlights how opposite they are. “We can’t wait for New Year’s Eve! #CNNNYE,” comes a caption on Instagram.

Several stars from the Bravo universe reacted to the clip.

“Two Zaddy’s with high class high level high body count hair🔥🔥🔥What a way to ring it in🎉🎉🎉 @bravoandy @andersoncooper,” wrote “Real Housewives of Salt Lake City” star Angie Katsanevas.

“The only way to ring in the New Year 🎉🥂❤️, “ added “Real Housewives of New Jersey” veteran Margaret Josephs.

“I never miss it,” chimed in RHONJ’s Dolores Catania.

“Real Housewives of New York City” star Ubah Hassan posted a clinking champagne glass emoji.

Anderson Joked About the Most ‘Annoying’ Part of NYE With Andy

During his WWHL appearance, Cooper was asked what the most “annoying” thing about working with Cohen on New Year’s Eve. The CNN news journalist had a quick answer. “Just who he’s going to insult,” Cooper said. “And like what the cleanup on aisle 3 is going to be in the morning.”

Cohen admitted Cooper’s assessment was “fair.”

According to a CNN press release, Cohen and Cooper will team up for their eighth consecutive year for CNN’s “New Year’s Eve Live with Anderson Cooper and Andy Cohen.” The event airs live from Times Square in New York City starting at 8 p.m. ET on December 31, 2024.
