Andy Cohen Gets 'Emotional' as Ben Begins Kindergarten - A Proud Parent's Moment - lulu

We hope you're sitting down for this big news as Andy Cohen's son, Ben Cohen, just marked a major milestone: He's officially started kindergarten. And, yes, you can bet that Andy is deep in his feelings about his kid's big week. One day after he shared that Ben was officially in school, he opened up to The Daily Dish about the big moment for his family.

"So far so good," the Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen host told The Daily Dish, via email, in an exclusive statement on September 6. "He didn’t cry and neither did I! I’m emotional though!”

The update comes after earlier this week, on September 5, Andy posted a look at Ben's first day of kindergarten, sharing a photo of his desk and a "welcome" sign, alongside happy-crying emojis.

Andy Cohen Celebrates Ben Cohen's 5th Birthday

When Ben turned 5 back in February 2024, Andy opened up about his son during an episode of WWHL, noting that his eldest child "couldn't make me happier." He then went on to on to count down the top five things he's learned about being a father since he welcomed little Ben into his life during the "Watch What Happens Five" segment.

The No. 5 lesson?  "Breakfast food is a very loose concept," he said. "Turns out it's just about putting something in your stomach."

"No. 4 is learning Elsa is completely overrated. Anna is the star of Frozen. That's Ben Cohen." He continued that "Hot Wheels race tracks are next to impossible to keep fastened, knowing that is my No. 3. Don't get me started."

What made the list at No. 2? "You can have many Halloween costumes."

"And the No. 1 thing Ben taught me this year, and every year, is that you can find joy in just about anything," he said. "Happy birthday, buddy, I love you."
