Andy Cohen addressed a recent report that he and Bravo are set to make a “big announcement” in April amid speculation that he’s stepping down at the network.

In February, the Deuxmoi gossip podcast reported that “things in Bravo” are “changing,” and a big announcement is on the horizon. At the time, some speculated that it was related to Real Housewives of New Jersey, which is still on hiatus.

Last week, Bravo podcaster Heather McDonald said she heard a rumor that the announcement is related to Andy stepping down in some capacity from his responsibilities at the network, and his show Watch What Happens Live could be canceled amid lawsuits against Andy and Bravo.

“There’s some rumor going around that I’m making a big announcement in April,” said Andy on his SiriusXM show, Andy Cohen Live, via @ratemybravo on Instagram. “[There’s] no announcement. And also Deuxmoi’s been saying there’s a big Bravo announcement coming. There’s not.”

“But I’m assuming at upfronts we’ll announce a whole bunch of shows,” Andy added, referring to an event in May when Bravo will showcase its upcoming programs to the media and advertisers. “I have no announcement. And Bravo — there’s no huge announcement.”

“My big announcement is: still on Twitter, taking the abuse,” Andy joked. “That’s it. I hate to burst everybody’s bubble.”

On March 11, Heather first revealed the rumor about Andy.

“I heard a rumor, not a lot of details to this rumor, that come April, there’s gonna be some announcement that Andy will be stepping down,” she said at the time on her Juicy Scoop podcast. “I don’t know if that means immediately in April or like in the next year, there’ll be a transition and we’re just letting you people know. I don’t know if that means he’ll only do the reunion but not Watch What Happens Live. Or if it’ll just mean, ‘I’m just doing the radio show, and I’m leaving all this behind, and I’m gonna do a talk show in the morning.’”

But Heather said she doesn’t want Andy to go.

“Nobody wants him replaced,” she explained. “Nobody wants to see some young buck, girl or guy, replace him on Watch What Happens Live.”
