The world of Bravo has been rocked by the devastating passing of Gregg Leakes, and many stars have taken to Twitter and Instagram to express their sadness and send their well-wishes to Gregg’s wife, Real Housewives of Atlanta alum Nene Leakes.
After a family friend confirmed Gregg lost his battle with stage 3 colon cancer on Wednesday, September 1, a number of Bravolebrities, including Andy Cohen, Real Housewives of New Jersey cast member Teresa Giudice, and former Real Housewives of Orange County star Vicki Gunvalson, and other stars, including rapper Nicki Minaj and actress Viola Davis, spoke out.
“I am heartbroken over the passing of Gregg Leakes, a wonderful man. I jokingly called him ‘Pastor Leakes’ but in truth he was a strong voice of reason [and] commanded great respect among the entire [RHOA] team. I am sending love and strength to [Nene Leakes and] the entire Leakes family,” Andy wrote on Twitter.
“I am so saddened to hear of his passing. My heart and prayers go out to [Nene Leakes] and her family. Gregg was a good man, so kind & so loving. I will miss him, and will always honor his memory with love,” Cynthia Bailey added on Instagram, along with a heartwarming story about a time Gregg offered to pray a blessing over her relationship with husband Mike Hill.

In a statement of her own, Kandi Burruss described Gregg as an “amazing man” with a “great energy.”
“My prayers go out to [Nene Leakes and] her family,” she shared. “[Gregg Leakes] was an amazing man who always brought love & great energy to any room he walked into. I’m thankful for the great memories I have of him. Rest in peace Gregg.”
Former RHOA cast member Sheree Whitfield shared a post with her fans and followers on Twitter.
“My heart and prayers are with the Leakes family during their time of loss. Greg Leakes was a kind and gentle soul and he will truly be missed by many. May the family find peace and comfort during this difficult time,” she tweeted.

“So heartbreaking,” added Kim Zolciak. “I’m so sorry for this tragic loss [Nene Leakes]. I am sending you and your entire family lots of love and prayers. Gregg was literally one of kind. Never waivered amongst the drama. Gregg was ALWAYS kind, considerate, and the calm in any storm. He was the peaceful voice of reason and will be greatly missed by so many. His legacy lives on in you and the boys. Until we meet again, may you rest in Paradise, Gregg.”
In a message shared on her Instagram page, Teresa wrote to Nene directly.
“I’m so sorry for your loss, my heart goes out to you & your entire family. Sending love your way. Rest In Peace Gregg,” she stated.
RHOC‘s OG, Vicki, also offered a statement to Nene, recalling something Gregg had once told her.
“Nene, my heart breaks for you,” she wrote. “I’ve had the privilege of being around Gregg and you many times, and the love and adoration he had for you was so beautiful. When I saw you on stage in Cinderella and talking with Gregg afterwards, he said to [me], ‘Isn’t she something. So talented, so beautiful and I couldn’t be more proud of my wife.’ Nene, my thoughts are with you and your family. I’m so sorry for your tremendous loss.”

Drew Sidora, Real Housewives of Potomac‘s Ashley Darby, and Ramona Singer of The Real Housewives of New York City posted reactions on their Instagram Stories.
“So sorry for your loss [Nene Leakes],” Ramona wrote. “Sending you lots of love.”
Nicki, who’s been making headlines recently for her potential hosting gig on the upcoming RHOP season six reunion, shared a message on her Instagram Story.
“Broken hearted to hear of this tragic loss,” Nicki said. “[Nene Leakes], tho I know nothing can stop the pain you must be feeling right now, I’m sending you my love [and] strength. May God cover your family now [and] forever — [and] equipped you [with] what your heart needs to move on. [Gregg] seemed like such a loving, funny, dynamic person to be around. I can tell he’ll be greatly missed,” the message read.
Meanwhile, Viola weighed in on Twitter.
“So sorry. RIP….” she wrote, along with an article about the tragedy.
Gregg appeared on The Real Housewives of Atlanta alongside wife Nene from seasons one through eight and again from season 10 to season 12.
