Amanda Batula Reveals Rihanna DM'd Her — but She Ignored It: 'I Was So Afraid!'-quang

The 'Summer House' star said it took her a year to reply after receiving a DM from Rihanna

Amanda Batula is revealing the most famous person to slide into her DMs — and the mistake she made after.

During an appearance on the Wednesday, Feb. 19 episode of the Conversations with Cam podcast, the Summer House star, 33, recalled how she reacted when she got a DM from Rihanna. At the time, Batula says she was so shocked that she just ignored the message.

“I was so afraid and depressed that I didn't respond!” she admitted.

“Amanda, are you kidding?” host Cameron Oaks Rogers asked, to which Batula replied, "I swear to God. She said, ‘You're my fave tbh.’”

Eventually, the TV personality said she got around to writing the famed superstar back, but she might’ve missed her window of opportunity to have more of a conversation.

“I finally responded,” Batula explained, noting her message alluded to one of Rihanna’s most famous songs. “I said like, ‘I love you, queen,’ with an umbrella emoji.”

When Rogers questioned if she ever heard back from the singer, Batula said, "no," adding, "Because I think it was like a year later."

“That's like the worst thing depression has cost you honestly,” Rogers quipped.

“It was so bad,” Batula agreed. “I was like so overwhelmed. I [was] like, ‘What do I say?’”

Rihanna has never been shy about being a Bravo superfan, even being known to reach out to a number of reality stars on social media in the past. In July 2021, the Grammy winner showed her support for then-Real Housewives of New York star Leah McSweeney after Rihanna was name-dropped during an episode.

In the scene, McSweeney argued with Ramona Singer and Luann de Lesseps over her streetwear line, Married to the Mob, so the Fenty Beauty CEO shared a selfie of herself wearing a shirt from the line along with the clip in which McSweeney referenced her, captioning the post, "what was said @ramonasinger ? 😂 #RHONY."

Rihanna also told Vogue once that she has a special love for The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.

"Tell me who is a badder bitch than Lisa Vanderpump!” she said. “She's goals AF! She's chic but still funny. She likes to be at home with her husband and then goes and handles her business. Maybe there's a couple of thousand Birkins in her closet, but she's still focused. I love that about her."

Just this past January, Mary Cosby shared that she heard from Rihanna as well after she and her son discussed his drug addiction on an episode of The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City.

“Even other Housewives reached out to me — even Rihanna reached out to me!" Cosby said in an interview with Vulture.
