Despite how it appeared on The Bachelor, Alexe Godin has revealed her one-on-one date with Grant Ellis was actually a bit uncomfortable.

Alexe opened up about her one-on-one date with Grant at the Beverly Center, during which Grant played the piano and performed an original song for the bachelorette, during a recent episode of the "Bachelor Happy Hour" podcast.

Alexe, a 27-year-old pediatric speech therapist from Canada who currently resides in Los Angeles, CA, shared with the podcast's co-hosts Joe Amabile and Serena Pitt how Grant was very "emotionally mature" while filming Season 29.

"He's definitely handsome and attractive -- my type physically. The one thing I was concerned about -- and it wasn't anything on him, it was more of a 'me' thing -- it was that I'm not super romantic. It's something I always struggled with," Alexe explained.

The recipient of Grant's First Impression Rose continued, "He came off very romantic and very intentional. So I was like, 'Okay, let's go into [our first date] with an open mind because opposites attract. He can bring the romantic out of me.'"

For their first date, Grant surprised Alexe by shutting down a mall and having it all to themselves.

The couple played games, jumped on beds, made a giant ice cream sundae, and more. And at one point, Grant sat Alexe down at a piano and sang her a song he had written himself.

Lyrics of Grant's song included, "I know I need you, I breathe you. I will never let you go."

Alexe recalled, "I am not romantic, and [when] he was singing to me, I was like [tense]."

Alexe apparently felt a little awkward and uncomfortable while Grant was serenading her.

"In that moment, I was like, 'Alexe, just be. Someone is singing to you. How nice is that? You've never had that done before. Just enjoy the moment.' That's kind of what was going through my mind," Alexe explained.

"I was also like, 'I'm not used to this.'"

Alexe recalled the interaction with a tense giggle, and then Serena pointed out how being serenaded on a first date is "intense."

Joe also added how it was probably a difficult situation for Alexe to be in considering she and Grant were just starting out their relationship.

Alexe agreed and noted, "It was the first one-on-one, guys! And when you don't know the person!"

Alexe suggested she probably would've been more receptive to Grant's sweet song had the pair been allowed more time to get to know one another.

"It's different if it would've been the end of the season and I know him, but it was kind of like, 'Hi Grant, I'm Alexe. Okay, let's sing to each other!'" Alexe quipped.

Serena acknowledged how sitting at the piano together was clearly an "intimate" moment that maybe Alexe wasn't ready for.

Alexe, however, said she was glad that Grant had pushed her out of her comfort zone.

Alexe explained that if she and Grant were both very romantic, the date could've been "cheesy."

"I feel like it was nice to have different qualities and bring that out of each other," Alexe said, "and that's what I kept repeating, too. We were so opposite, but I feel like I was bringing stuff out of him, and he was bringing stuff out of me."

Even though that part of the date was a little awkward and tense for Alexe, she had a great time overall.

Alexe said she felt a physical and romantic chemistry with The Bachelor star, whom she also called thoughtful, attentive and emotional.

And Grant appeared smitten with Alexe, and the date appeared to deepen their connection.

Alexe, for example, opened up to Grant how she didn't have a traditional upbringing and had been raised by her grandparents. Alexe said she didn't see her dad for 17 years of her life and was estranged from her mother, who never made her feel seen or supported.

Alexe shared how she wanted to become a speech therapist to support kids in the way she wished she had been supported growing up. She also said she enjoys the counseling aspect of her job.

"Grant makes me feel like he sees me and he understands me," Alexe gushed to The Bachelor cameras, adding how she and Grant also bonded over the fact they never had a picture-perfect life.

Grant ended up telling Alexe that he could see a future with her, and so he gave her a rose.

The pair wrapped up the night with a dance in the middle of the quiet mall, and Alexe said this was the best date she had ever gone on in her life.

"When I'm with Alexe, I feel like I'm on top of the world. Tonight, it feels like I'm living in a dream. It's just so romantic. I see something with Alexe. She's a kid at heart, and I'm the same way, and so I feel a connection," Grant gushed to the cameras.
