The Philadelphia Eagles are Super Bowl LIX champions after defeating the Kansas City Chiefs, 40-22, on Sunday in New Orleans.
It was a dominant performance from the Eagles, and quarterback Jalen Hurts played well on the biggest stage.
Now, the Eagles are hoisting the Lombardi Trophy and the Chiefs' quest for a Super Bowl three-peat is over.
After the game, the Alabama Crimson Tide football X account posted a congratulations message to a few former Alabama Crimson Tide football stars.
The players in the post were DeVonta Smith, Landon Dickerson, Byron Young, Tyler Steen, Eli Ricks, Cameron Latu and Jalen Hurts.
However, the Alabama account caught some major backlash for including Hurts in the post.
Hurts did begin his college career at Alabama, but he was benched in the national title game in some year for Tua Tagovailoa.
Later Hurts ended up leaving and going to Oklahoma to finish his college career.
"Jalen is a Sooner," one fan wrote.
"Jalen Hurts is an OU alum," another replied.
"Alabama taking credit for Jalen Hurts after pushing him out the door for Tua is LOL funny," another said.
"Jalen a Sooner, stay in your lane, son," another stated.
"Nah Jalen a sooner yall turned y’all’s back on him," wrote another.
"Now you want to claim Hurts?" asked another.
In the 2018 national championship game, Alabama benched Hurts and went with Tua Tagovailoa with the Crimson Tide trailing Georgia 13-0 at halftime.
Tagovailoa entered and led Alabama to the 26-23 victory in a thrilling comeback. After that, Hurts left Tuscaloosa and joined the Oklahoma Sooners.
He finished his college career and had a career-high 32 touchdowns in 2019 while being the runner-up in the Heisman Trophy voting.
All in all, Alabama's decision to include Hurts in the graphic is not going over too well.
