Aesha Scott Reveals the "Hard Call" She & Scott Dobson Made Ahead of Their Wedding

Aesha Scott and her fiancé, Scott “Scotty” Dobson, are set to wed in 2026, and they know exactly what kind of wedding they want. 

“We're going down a not-so-traditional route, and we are doing all Thai food because I'm obsessed with Thai,” Aesha shared with PEOPLE magazine in an interview published on April 25. “If I'm a little bit tipsy after the afternoon drinks, I want to sit down, I want to slurp up a curry. I just want to sit there in spice heaven, so we're going to do Thai food.”

Additionally, the Below Deck Mediterranean yachtie revealed she already has a venue, videographer, photographer, and DJ locked in. “We're doing a saxophone-playing DJ because I love the saxophone. Get the sax out and put the bangers on!” she exclaimed. 

The couple is tying the knot in their native New Zealand, but Aesha admitted it was a "hard call" to settle on that location.  

“Being such a global couple, we really could have done it anywhere,” Aesha said. “Scott's half American, so he's got a lot of family in California, but we decided at the end of the day, the bulk of our guest list is going to be from our hometown here in Tauranga in New Zealand, so we're going to do it here. I'm at that age where pretty much all of my friends have young babies or are pregnant with their second, so I thought they're not going to want to jump on a plane and lug their whole family everywhere. It's better just to have it around where we grew up.”

Though the pair is excited about their wedding details, they have pushed back the date.

In a 2024 conversation with The Daily Dish, Aesha shared that she and Scotty would be getting married in 2025. During a January appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, however, the chief stew revealed they pushed back the date since she couldn't handle planning within that short period of time. 

"I had a very busy year last year," she explained. "We pushed it, and we've got a lot of American guests, so I want to give people time to save."

Aesha shared the new date: March 7, 2026. "I'm so excited!" the Drop founder exclaimed, noting how the switch has allowed her more time to plan to make it truly special.
