Below Deck Down Under season 3 may not featured Chief Stew Aesha Scott, it’s possible the beloved franchise-wide yachtie may be finished with Below Deck for good after another season of Below Deck Med. Aesha, who’s been lauded as one of the best Chief Stews that Below Deck has ever seen, was originally a stew aboard Captain Sandy Yawn’s superyacht crew on Below Deck Mediterranean season 4. Working as a stew during her first seasons in the franchise, Aesha’s sense of humor and positive attitude became infectious for Below Deck viewers, who enjoyed watched her move through the franchise drama.
While Aesha wasn’t often featured in the drama herself, she was always available to comment on what was happening with the rest of the crew and offer her takes on what was happening aboard the Below Deck superyachts she worked on. Taking a break after Below Deck Med season 5, Aesha was featured in the inaugural seasons of Below Deck Down Under. Serving as Captain Jason Chambers’ Chief Stew, Aesha did her best to navigate the managerial side to her new role. A beloved Chief Stew, Aesha moved back to Below Deck Med, but could be done with the franchise.
Although Aesha has been part of the rise in popularity of Below Deck Down Under, she wasn’t featured in the sneak peek trailer of the upcoming season. While it’s been rumored that Aesha wouldn’t be part of Below Deck Down Under season 3 for months, seeing a sneak preview of the season confirmed that the excellent Chief Stew won’t be joining in on the fun of the season. With only Captain Jason and Chef Tzarina Mace-Ralph confirmed as returning cast members for the season from the trailer, Aesha’s time on the series may have come to an end without notice.
Reality TV is more popular than ever. With so many to choose from, here are some of the best reality TV shows to stream or watch right now.
Aesha recently appeared on Below Deck Mediterranean season 9, coming in as the Chief Stew for the first time on the series. While Aesha had a tough season full of managerial challenges with her stews, Bri Muller, Ellie Dubaich, and Carrie O’Neill, it was clear that she did a great job aboard Mustique. Captain Sandy, a notoriously difficult Captain to please in the Below Deck world, was happy with Aesha’s abilities and did her best to praise her Chief Stew throughout the season. Aesha’s time on the series, however, seemed exhausting for the yachtie and left her quite burnt out.
Although Aesha’s life may be changing from what she’s used to working in the yachting industry, the changes are surely for the best as she moves into a different phase of life. Earlier in 2024, Aesha announced she got engaged to her long-time boyfriend Scott Dobson. While he hasn’t been part of the Below Deck franchise in the past, viewers have gotten to know Scott through Aesha, and have seen how wonderful their relationship is from her joyous Instagram posts and interviews about her relationship. Happily engaged, the New Zealand-based couple will be putting down roots in a new home.
Aesha has shared the progress of finding and fixing up her new home online, making it clear just how much work it’s been to find the right place for her and Scott. While both were torn on where to have a home base, it became clear that being in New Zealand is what both of them want, despite the amount of travel Aesha does. With a new home to finally fix up, Aesha may be making some changes in her life surrounding her career in the yachting industry, which keeps her far away from home for weeks at a time.
Not only has Aesha planted her roots in New Zealand with her new home, she’s also diversifying her portfolio with business ventures. While Aesha’s appearances on Below Deck have given her a bit of internet fame, the Kiwi is making it clear that she’s interested in doing more than working in the yachting industry as she moves forward in her life with a new business under her belt. Aesha started her own alcoholic coconut water company, Drop, and has been doing her best to promote the brand online. The beverage, which is currently only available in Australia, has been successful.
Drop, which gives a new twist to a refreshing classic, is something Aesha is passionate about. It’s clear in her promotion of the brand that she cares a lot about the way Drop is perceived and the way that her time on Below Deck impacts the brand. Using her Below Deck fame to promote Drop, Aesha has been doing her best to keep herself evenly balanced between her business ventures, sharing about them online frequently. While it’s possible Aesha could do both, her business could also be pulling her away from her time as Chief Stew on Below Deck Med.
After Below Deck Mediterranean season 9, many wondered if Aesha would be returning to the series as Chief Stew in the future. Though her season didn’t go poorly, Aesha’s time as Chief Stew aboard Mustique wasn’t easy. In fact, the Chief Stew herself shared that it was one of the most challenging charter seasons she’s ever faced in a management capacity, making it clear that she needed a serious break after the season. Though she promoted it well, Aesha appeared to be over talking about the ins and outs
of Below Deck Mediterranean season 9 by the end of it.
Though Aesha seemed finished with Below Deck Med after season 9, she has been confirmed to have returned to the franchise once again for another season as Chief Stew with Captain Sandy. Below Deck Mediterranean season 10, which will air in 2025, saw Aesha back as the Chief Stew once again. After the season finished filming in the late summer of 2024, Aesha shared some Instagram stories alluding to the fact that she’d been filming, though she hasn’t confirmed it directly. While it’s possible Aesha may not return to Below Deck Down Under, she could keep coming back to Med.
