How to Watch

On Season 9, Episode 13 of Below Deck Mediterranean, Captain Sandy Yawn floated the idea of bringing on a new stew to Aesha Scott. Because the chief stew had been feeling spread thin lately, she was overjoyed at the suggestion. "That would feel amazing. It would solve everything," Aesha exclaimed hugging the captain.
Enter Carrie O'Neill, a yachtie with a bit more experience than second and third stews, Elena "Ellie" Dubaich and Bri Muller — a fact that makes Aesha slightly uneasy.
In a preview for Episode 14, which you can watch above, Aesha sits with Ellie, Bri, and Carrie in the crew mess, introducing the ladies. After noting that Ellie and Bri would be remaining on their respective shifts, she points out how Carrie will "float around and help where it's needed."
"I do want you to help with service a lot so I can see what level you're at," Aesha states to Carrie, who dutifully nods her head at the instructions.
"Carrie outranks Ellie and Bri easily with her experience," Aesha says in an interview confessional. "But I don't want to upset anyone, so she's just like, my floater."
"I feel like I can finally uphold this Med standard, which is what I've wanted this whole season," she continues.
Elena Dubaich and Bri Muller React to New Stew Carrie O'Neill
Though Ellie and Bri appeared copacetic to the new stew situation in the preview for Episode 14, in Episode 13, which aired on August 26, the ladies shared their true feelings in their respective confessionals.
"Where is this coming from?" Ellie asked. "Do we need a new stew? It better be a f-cking laundry stew."
Bri, who handles the majority of laundry tasks, said, "I just know that I don't want drama...I'm working on maturing."
Aesha, for her part, pointed out how much "easier" her life would be with another stew around while addressing the potential stormy seas ahead resulting from the update.
"Someone new coming on board is good because I'm being spread way too thin. But I know it's going to affect the dynamics of the crew," Aesha stated in a confessional. "Ellie is seething in her cabin and I feel like this could mark the point where things go south with us. It could blow everything up. But at this point, I don't care. I need the help."
