Another year, and another nomination, that is the reality for some NHL players who are candidates for individual honors, and for the New York Rangers, Vinnie Trocheck, it's his life in 2025. He was nominated for a Selke Trophy this season, but failed to have enough votes to win.![Vinnie Trocheck]()
This year's Selke Trophy winner is Sasha Barkov of the Florida Panthers. A result that isn't surprising, but ultimately disappointing for Vinnie Trocheck.
Trocheck has been a key piece in the New York Rangers' lineup since he arrived. For the Rangers center, this has been a theme this entire season.
In 82 games for the Blueshirts, he'd score 59 points, a decline in production after consecutive 64 and 77-point seasons.
Hopes of a Selke Trophy for him are dashed, at least this year.
Vinnie Trocheck would come in 18th in Selke Trophy voting, only winning 3 votes.
Even then, there is a small victory that he won more votes than the Carolina Hurricanes' Sebastian Aho.

Trocheck would be the only Ranger player who would be given a nomination for the trophy this season. Which is kind of incredible considering J.T. Miller is an excellent two-way forward who has shown himself worthy of such an honor.
Better luck next year, Vinnie.
